Orhan that fell on Moscow region killed a person

City services are dealing with the aftermath of the bad weather

A resident of the Moscow region died during the hurricane “Orhan”, which raged in the region the day before, the REN TV channel reports. According to it, the 40-year-old man was crushed to death by a fallen tree.

The body of the deceased was found in a forest near the village of Provody in Domodedovo. In addition, sources reported that two people were injured in Moscow when trees fell due to bad weather, and seven cars were damaged.

Before this, a source in the capital’s emergency services said that a total of 24 trees in the city were blown down by the strong wind . It was specified that the injured Muscovites were hospitalized.

It was also reported that a queue of hundreds of passengers formed at the capital’s Sheremetyevo airport due to the hurricane . According to media reports, more than 36 flights were cancelled or postponed at the airport due to the bad weather.

Earlier, residents of the Moscow region and the capital shared photos and  videos of Hurricane Orhan , which brought down hailstones the size of stones on the region. According to eyewitnesses, the natural phenomenon was rapidly approaching Moscow.

The footage shows that huge, swirling, dark-colored clouds have formed in the sky. Daylight literally faded under their onslaught. The video clearly shows that the clouds are moving quickly, leaving behind numerous flashes of lightning. There was also heavy rain and hail in the Moscow region. In the photos provided by eyewitnesses, the ice floes were comparable in size to quail eggs.
