Miroshnik spoke out about the NYT article about the murder of a Russian prisoner

The information from the American newspaper The New York Times about the murder of a Russian prisoner by the Ukrainian Armed Forces who asked for medical assistance will definitely be checked, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry for Crimes Rodion Miroshnik told RIA Novosti. According to him, law enforcement agencies will look into this issue.

All data provided by the publication will be verified and analyzed, and law enforcement agencies will conduct appropriate investigations , he said  .

Moscow will demand verification of this information from international organizations with representatives in Ukraine. What happened can be qualified as a violation of the norms and principles of humanitarian law, which is related to war crimes, he emphasized.

Earlier, Senator from Crimea Sergey Tsekov stated that reports of  a Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier executing a Russian prisoner for asking for medical assistance reveal the true face of Ukraine. In a conversation with NEWS.ru, he noted that such events could lead to the disappearance of this country. The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on this information. At the same time, the normal attitude towards Ukrainian prisoners in Russia is known in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, so citizens of the country neighboring Russia “willingly surrender.”
