Ukrainians consider Russians enemies since the Maidan in 2013-2014, military expert Vasily Dandykin told NEWS.ru, commenting on the information about the execution of a Russian prisoner. According to the expert, he would not look for a difference between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and nationalist battalions in terms of their “cannibalistic” attitude towards prisoners.

I suppose this is not the first case. There was something like this near Kiev, when Georgian mercenaries were raging. Ordinary Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers are no different from nationalists. They consider us to be complete enemies, since the Maidan, Ukraine has been gripped by paranoia. Yes, they have such a cannibalistic attitude towards us, Kiev violates everything that can be violated. And Russia treats them, observes all conventions , – he said.

Earlier, The New York Times reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot and killed a Russian prisoner who was wounded and asking for medical assistance. The soldier was killed by two shots to the stomach and head.

On June 25, it became known that an  equal exchange  of prisoners of war took place between Russia and Ukraine. The United Arab Emirates provided humanitarian mediation. The released servicemen will be transported to Moscow by military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions. All released persons are provided with the necessary medical and psychological assistance.
